Types of Membership
UTDA has three types of members: Sales and Service Dealers, Sales Only Dealers, and Vendors.
Sales and Service Dealers
- Participate in the service/parts agreement
- Provide service for tractors included in any UTDA certification programs
- Provide sales and installation of enhancements for compliance to UTDA certification programs
- Provide Certification Inspections at no charge
- Provide the owner of any non-compliant unit brought in for service with a written estimate of the cost of making the unit compliant. Service shall be provided at the member’s discretion, and only if the owner agrees to have the unit made compliant or signs a waiver acknowledging that this has been offered and explained.
- Provide service and parts, to the extent they are available, for all tractors they sell
Sales Only Dealers
- Offer sales of UTDA certified tractors
- May offer sales of common maintenance items such as filters, belts, and UTDA approved decals
A Sales Only Dealer must have an ongoing agreement with a UTDA Sales and Service Dealer for support for any UTDA certified tractors sold as well as some business entity in the US to provide parts and service support for any non-UTDA certified tractors that they sell.
The Sales Only Dealer must be able to give customers a resource for parts and service that has agreed to provide them. The UTDA expects to set the standards for marketing integrity, and that precludes marketing something which will not be supported after the sale.
Vendors
Vendors are members who sell something closely affiliated with our market other than tractors. Examples would be parts, implements, tires, or even services such as tractor or business insurance, possibly even financing. They may sell retail, or they may wholesale, or both. If they sell wholesale only, they must have at least one UTDA member who sells the product on a retail level. UTDA is grateful to those vendors who support our efforts to promote the highest level of safety in this market.
